Google expands 8 dollars AI Plus plan globally with Gemini 3 Pro and 200GB storage

Google is widening the funnel for paid AI subscriptions. Its cheaper Google AI Plus plan is now available across all markets where Google sells AI plans, including the US at 7.99 dollars per month.

Google AI Plus pricing and rollout to new markets

The expansion adds the plan to 35 additional countries and territories, following earlier launches that started in Indonesia, according to Google’s Gemini team on X (post). Pricing varies by region: in many emerging markets it lands under 5 dollars per month, while India is priced at 399 rupees (about 4.44 dollars).

Google is also using a standard SaaS conversion tactic: new subscribers can get 50 percent off for the first two months. For founders and B2B marketers, this matters because lower entry pricing tends to increase trial velocity, which can then lift usage of adjacent products (storage, collaboration, and premium model tiers).

Gemini, Flow, and NotebookLM features aimed at everyday production

The plan bundles access to Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro in the Gemini app, plus Flow’s AI filmmaking tools (relevant for creative testing and short-form ad production under the video-ai umbrella). It also includes research and writing support in NotebookLM, positioning the tier as a lightweight productivity upgrade for teams that do not need the full Google AI Pro plan (typically 20 dollars per month).

Beyond model access, Plus includes 200GB of storage and allows benefit sharing with up to five family members, extending its value proposition beyond solo users. Existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers are set to receive AI Plus benefits automatically over the next few days.

Competitive context: Google has explicitly framed the plan as an answer to lower-cost subscriptions like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go, which is listed at 8 dollars per month in the US on OpenAI’s pricing page (pricing).

For marketers, the key signal is pricing pressure: mainstream AI tooling is being packaged like consumer subscriptions, which will influence what SMBs expect to pay for baseline model access and content workflows.
